WHAT IS IT ?

Sculptra injections are a minimally invasive method for improving facial contours and plumping up the skin. Sculptra can also be used to treat cellulite on the body, give volume to the buttocks or redefine their shape. Sculptra is made from L-polylactic acid, a non-allergenic, biocompatible and biodegradable substance that is naturally present in the human body. This component stimulates the production of collagen, which helps the skin to regenerate and rebuild tissue volume.

HOW DOES IT WORK ?

With age, the amount of collagen produced by the body decreases considerably, the skin loses its elasticity and wrinkles appear. Thanks to the L-polylactic acid that is injected into the skin, the formation of collagen is increased in a natural way. The Sculptra acts progressively, in the weeks following the treatment, improving the appearance of the skin and restoring its elasticity. Increasingly, Sculptra is also used to fill in cellulite dimples on the body or to give more volume to the buttocks, a procedure commonly called butt lift.

Sculptra injections should only be performed by a qualified treating professional. The procedure lasts an average of 30 to 60 minutes and consists of injecting the preparation into certain parts of the face or body. The injections are made with fine needles or cannulas and are almost painless. To avoid any discomfort, an anesthetic cream may be applied before the procedure. After only 2 to 3 treatments, carried out at intervals of 4 to 6 weeks, a noticeable improvement in the condition of the skin is visible, giving it a more youthful appearance.
Individual variations, such as the stage of skin aging, genetic predisposition and lifestyle, can have an impact on the duration of results. Numerous scientific studies confirm the persistence of the effects of Sculptra injections for up to 3 years.
