WHAT IS IT ?

Invisalign is a teeth straightening technology using a set of individually designed transparent aligners, ideally suited to the patient's teeth. The patient receives a set of aligners and replaces them every 2 weeks. This reduces the number of visits to the dentist's office to a minimum. Invisalign is especially recommended for people who care about their comfort and aesthetics.

HOW DOES IT WORK ?

During the initial consultation, your dentist will evaluate your smile and take impressions of your teeth to send them to the laboratory. Based on these data, a 3D model of your dental occlusion - before and after treatment - will be created. Afterwards, the laboratory will build individual aligners for your teeth and send them to your dentist. You will be given 2 sets of aligners and asked to change them every 2 weeks. The doctor will ask you to book your next visit 1 month later for a follow-up.

WHAT ARE THE RESULTS ?

Depending on your treatment goals, Invisalign aligners can equalize your teeth and expand your smile, reduce the spaces between your teeth and correct your dental occlusion. The result of the treatment is a beautiful, straight smile.

WHAT IS
THE TECHNIQUE ?

Invisalign aligners cover all your teeth and are almost invisible. They press on teeth with gentle and controlled force, making them to gradually move in the right direction. For better control of movement, special attachments are sometimes applied to the teeth. It is recommended to wear aligners for a minimum of 22 hours a day to ensure optimal teeth movement and achieve the desired results. The patient can remove aligners to brush the teeth or to eat a meal.

DOES IT HURT ?

Invisalign is painless and requires no anesthesia. Some patients notice discomfort in the first days of using aligners but this feeling goes away spontaneously very quickly. Patients that experienced metal braces note that Invisalign aligners are much more comfortable and cause less mouth soreness.
Your dentist will give you a new set of aligners every 1-2 weeks, depending on your treatment plan. The time needed to achieve a desirable effect is individual for each patient and is usually from 3 to 12 months.
If you followed all your doctor's recommendations and wore Invisalign aligners for at least 22 hours a day, then the achieved effect will be very long-lasting. When special retainers are used, the effect of Invisalign treatment is permanent.
No recovery time is needed and all patients can return to their daily activities after putting on Invisalign aligners. Aligners are comfortable and almost invisible.
In individual cases, the doctor may recommend wearing special retainers to maintain the results of treatment. There are two main types of retainers: fixed or removable. Permanent retainers are considered to be a more effective option and provide better long-lasting results.
Invisalign aligners are safe and cause no major complications. The most common side effects are headaches, discomfort, lisp during speech and biting of the cheeks. Most of these side effects occur only in the first days of wearing aligners and resolve spontaneously within a few days. Patients who experienced metal braces note that Invisalign aligners are much more comfortable and cause less mouth soreness.
Invisalign aligners are contraindicated for patients with caries, periodontal disease, high teeth sensitivity or current orthodontic treatment. Allergy to Invisalign aligners material is extremely rare.
