WHAT IS IT ?

The skin aging process is accompanied by a decrease in collagen density, loss of adequate moisture level, firmness and elasticity. One of the safest and least invasive methods of skin rejuvenation is the intense pulsed light or IPL photorejuvenation. This treatment is recommended for people who want to slow down the skin's aging process, as well as all those who struggle with vascular changes, rosacea, enlarged pores, erythema, as well as dark spots caused by sun exposition or age. IPL photorejuvenation can be used on any part of the body, but the face, neck, shoulders, décolleté and hands are the most popular areas.

HOW DOES IT WORK ?

Photorejuvenation is done through exposure to intense pulsed light, which heats the skin. The light emitted stimulates the cells to produce new collagen and elastin. The increase in the number of collagen fibers is responsible for skin tightening, wrinkle reduction and overall skin regeneration. Intense pulsed light is also absorbed by the skin's hemoglobin and melanin, thereby reducing redness and brown spots.

DOES IT HURT ?

The use of an anesthetic cream is not necessary but is recommended one hour before a Venus Versa IPL treatment to reduce discomfort in sensitive individuals.
Photorejuvenation is a relatively quick procedure. Depending on the area of the body, a treatment usually takes between 10 to 60 minutes. The first results of photorejuvenation are normally visible around 1 week after the first procedure.
Depending on the skin condition to be treated and in order to obtain stable and long-lasting effects, a series of 2 to 5 IPL photorejuvenation treatments repeated every 4 weeks should be performed. This will visibly reduce facial wrinkles and improve skin tone and elasticity.
Photorejuvenation is a non invasive procedure. Immediately after the procedure, the skin shows light swelling and redness. Dark spots can also appear darker. Patients can return to their normal activities right after the treatment, but it might take up to 1 week before skin brightening results appear.
In order to maintain the final results, for at least a month after the procedure, it is important to use sunscreen to protect the skin from ultraviolet rays. It is also recommended to repeat the treatment 1-2 times a year.
Photorejuvenation is a safe procedure. Protective eyewear is used during the treatment to protect eyes from the intensed pulsed light.
There are some contraindications to photorejuvenation, including skin photosensitivity, some skin diseases such as eczema or psoriasis in the treated area, as well as pregnancy.
