WHAT IS IT ?

Permanent hair removal with IPL, or Intense Pulsed Light, is a procedure performed using a unique device that allows you to remove hair from any part of the body. The treatment is safe and its effect is permanent, which makes it very popular. Several permanent hair removal technologies are available today, but the most effective ones use either a laser or an intense pulsed light device.

HOW DOES IT WORK ?

Intense pulsed light and laser are similar in the mechanism of action as both of them deliver high energy light to the target structures: hair follicles. After the light is absorbed by the hair follicles, it causes their rapid heating and thermal destruction. Surrounding tissues stay intact. After such exposure, hair falls out quickly and painlessly.

WHAT ARE THE RESULTS ?

After the first hair removal session, approximately 20% of the hair follicles in the treated area are destroyed. The result improves by about 15 to 20% with each subsequent session. Hair removal treatments will be repeated until hair growth stops completely.

Everything you need to know about this technology

DOES IT HURT ?

The IPL hair removal treatment is non-invasive and relatively painless thanks to the cooling tip. An anesthetic cream may be applied to the skin before the treatment to avoid any discomfort.
The procedure lasts 15-60 minutes, depending on the treatment area. To achieve stable and long-lasting results, it is advisable to undergo a series of 6-10 procedures for women and 8-12 for men, at a 6-12 weeks interval. The exact number of procedures required for permanent hair removal is individual for each person and depends on the structure of the hair at the beginning.
The achieved results are permanent.
Immediately after the permanent hair removal treatment, you can go home and resume your daily activities. In some cases, you will need 3 to 5 days to recover completely due to possible local side effects such as redness or swelling in the treatment area.
Once the optimal results are achieved, there is no maintenance required.
Permanent hair removal with intense pulsed light is a safe procedure without significant complications. The most common side effects are minor local swelling and redness of the skin in the treatment area, which normally last a couple of hours and resolve spontaneously.
There are certain contraindications to IPL permanent hair removal treatment such as pregnancy, recent tanning, use of photosensitizing drugs, skin diseases, uncontrolled diabetes, skin warts, among others.
