WHAT IS IT ?

The NightLase laser is a technology used for the non-invasive treatment of snoring in order to improve the quality of sleep. Snoring is not only an aesthetic problem, but it can also lead to much more serious health problems, including cardiovascular disease. The lack of uninterrupted deep sleep does not allow the body to function optimally. With NightLase Snoring Therapy, the patient can count on the elimination or significant reduction of snoring and obstructive sleep apnea problems.

HOW DOES IT WORK ?

The NightLase Er:YAG laser treatment warms the parts of the mouth directly responsible for the vibrations that cause snoring and sleep apnea: soft palate, uvula, tonsils, base and sides of the tongue. When used in the soft palate area, the laser tightens the tissues allowing the airways to open more widely. The laser energy stimulates the contraction of collagen fibers and the production of new collagen and elastin.

DOES IT HURT ?

NightLase procedure is non-invasive, painless, and well-tolerated. Most patients experience a warmth in the treatment area during the process and compare it to drinking a warm coffee. No local anesthetic is used.
A series of 3 treatments is necessary to obtain an optimal result. Each procedure takes 25 to 30 minutes. The first treatment can be performed during the first visit, after questioning the patient to find out if he or she is a candidate for the NightLase treatment. The second treatment should be performed 2 weeks after the first, and the third, 4 weeks after the second. Therefore, the duration of the complete cure with NightLase is approximately 6 weeks.
The effect of the NightLase treatment lasts up to 12 months, depending on the severity of the snoring. In order not to lose the results obtained, a maintenance every 6 months is recommended.
The NightLase treatment is non-invasive and does not involve any recovery time. Patients can go home and resume their daily activities immediately after the procedure.
In order to maintain the results obtained, it is advisable to repeat the NightLase treatment once or twice a year. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle and weight loss can also prolong the effect of the NightLase treatment.
The NightLase procedure is safe and causes no significant complications.
There are certain contraindications to NightLase treatment, such as pregnancy, diseases of the throat and vocal cords, and acute throat infections, among others.
