This video shows the technique used to treat stretch marks with the fractional laser.
STEP BY STEP PROTOCOL
01
ASSESSMENT AND ANESTHESIA
After reviewing your medical questionnaire, your treating professional will conduct your full assessment, starting with pictures taken from different angles, visual analysis, and delineating your tattoos if necessary. You will need to apply an anesthetic cream one hour before your treatment to make it more comfortable. Depending on the severity of your stretch marks, the treatment's depth and the number of passes will be adjusted.
02
PREPARATION OF THE AREA TO BE TREATED
After letting the anesthetic cream do its work, your treating professional will clean the area to be treated. He will disinfect it with compresses and an alcohol solution. You will be comfortably seated and given protective glasses to wear during the procedure.
03
LASER TREATMENT ER:YAG
The fractional laser treatment is minimally invasive and will create micro-perforations in your skin. You may hear the sound of a medical air aspirator being used to collect vapors. The procedure will take approximately 30 to 90 minutes depending on the width of the treatment area.
04
PROTECTION BARRIER AND POST-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS
An occlusive ointment suitable for your skin type will be applied to your stretch marks. This is important for healing and for preventing infections. Then, your professional will explain the post-treatment instructions and will give you a written copy to take home.
