HOW DOES IT WORK ?

Intense pulsed light is used to selectively destroy the melanin pigments that create dark lesions, sun or age spots. A tightening effect can also be observed which provides an overall rejuvenating effect.

STEP BY STEP PROTOCOL

APPLICATION OF A TRANSPARENT GEL ON THE ZONE

After discussing your personalized treatment plan, selecting the appropriate zone to treat, and taking pictures, the provider will apply a layer of transparent gel on the area to protect your skin and enhance the heat conduction of the intense pulsed light.

PARAMETERS ADJUSTMENTS AND SPOT TESTS

The provider will adjust different settings to proceed to some spot tests on a chosen area to see how your skin type reacts before treating the entire zone.

START OF THE INTENSE PULSED LIGHT TREATMENT

After assessing your skin reaction, the professional will slide the IPL crystal tip over the entire area to emit pulses, ensuring an even treatment.

CLEANING OF THE TREATMENT AREA AND APPLICATION OF AN ADAPTED SKIN PRODUCT

The session will end with a quick cleaning of the treated area to remove the gel. The provider will apply a moisturizer with SPF to soothe the heat and protect your skin from the sun.

In order to maximize the results of hand rejuvenation performed with intense pulsed light, it is imperative to apply sunscreen daily to prevent new pigment spots from forming on the hands.

PURPOSE

The goal of the IPL Venus Versa treatment on the hands is to eliminate dark spots and rejuvenate the appearance of the hands.

HOW IT WORKS

The Venus Versa device works by sending intense pulsed light, or IPL, onto the treated areas.

RESULTS

We aim for tighter, smoother skin with a more even skin tone. It is recommended to do between 2 and 5 treatments at a 4-weeks interval for optimal before and after results.

TECHNIQUE

The Venus Versa IPL device is equipped with a special crystal tip allowing us to send intense pulsed light to the treated areas. This light will reduce the appearance of fine lines and dark spots. This treatment is non-surgical.

ANESTHESIA

The use of anesthetic cream is not necessary before a Venus Versa IPL treatment, but can reduce discomfort for sensitive people.

TIME IT TAKES

A Venus Versa IPL hand treatment takes approximately 15 minutes.

TIME IT LASTS

IPL Venus Versa treatment results last about 12 months, depending on the type of skin treated. It is recommended to do one treatment a year to maintain the results. It is also highly recommended to protect your skin from the sun with a sunscreen that has a 30 SPF or more to ensure lasting results.

RECOVERY

Most of the time, recovery from a Venus Versa IPL treatment takes between 7 and 14 days, depending on the type of skin being treated.

CAN I DO THIS TREATMENT IF I HAVE DARK SKIN ?

The IPL treatment cannot be carried out on phototypes IV, V, and VI. To better understand your phototype, your treatment provider will assess your skin tone during your first consultation. Also, you will need to be very transparent about your degree of sun exposure in the last few weeks and the one you have planned for the following weeks.
Normally, the skin does not peel following IPL treatment. To optimize the healing of your skin, you will need to avoid flaking with the regular application of moisturizer and sunscreen.
It is preferable not to have direct exposure to the sun for 2 weeks following your treatment. After these two weeks, we recommend exposure with proper sun protection. Be aware that you should never expose yourself to the sun without protection to avoid skin damage such as dark spots.
Every medical technology has its benefits and risks. Your treating professional is certified and highly qualified to carry out your treatment. He or she will therefore take the necessary measures to ensure that this does not happen. You will need to be very transparent about your sun exposure over the last few weeks so that your professional has all the information necessary for your evaluation before proceeding with your treatment.
