PERSONALIZED TREATMENT

EACH PATIENT IS UNIQUE

Melasma, also known as pregnancy mask, appears as hyperpigmented brown spots or patches on areas of the skin exposed to the sun, like the forehead, cheeks, upper lip, etc. Melasma is more common in women. Hormones, pregnancy, sun exposure and genetic predisposition are the main causes of this skin condition. It can present itself in different ways on different patients, which is why each melasma treatment is tailored to the needs of each patient.

PROVEN RESULTS

The photos below demonstrate the before and after results of an IPL photorejuvenation treatment for melasma.

TREATED AREAS

MAXIMIZING RESULTS

In order to maximize the results of the IPL treatment, medical-grade skin products containing lightening agents like hydroquinone or arbutine can be used at home. The daily use of sunscreen is also very important to prevent the appearance of melasma and make the results of this treatment last longer.

PURPOSE

One of the goals of the Venus Versa IPL treatment is to reduce the appearance of melasma. It also helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and tighten the skin by stimulating collagen production.

HOW IT WORKS

The Venus Versa device is not a laser. It works by sending intense pulsed light, or IPL, to the treated areas.

RESULTS

We are aiming for firmer, smoother skin with a more even complexion and less dilated skin pores. Two to five treatments are recommended at a 4-weeks interval for optimal before and after results.

TECHNIQUE

The Venus Versa IPL device has a tip that sends intense pulsed light to the face to reduce the appearance of melasma. This is a non-invasive technique.

ANESTHESIA

The use of anesthetic cream is recommended one hour before the IPL Venus Versa treatment to reduce discomfort.

TIME IT TAKES

The duration of an IPL Venus Versa treatment varies between 15 and 30 minutes, depending on the size of the treated area.

TIME IT LASTS

FAQ

Everything you need to know about this treatment

CAN I DO THIS TREATMENT IF I HAVE DARK SKIN ?

The treatment cannot be carried out on phototypes IV, V, and VI. To determine your phototype, your treatment provider will assess your skin during your first consultation. Also, you will need to be very transparent about your degree of sun exposure in the last few weeks and the one you have planned for the following weeks.
We don't want your skin to have to peel. To optimize the healing of your skin, you will need to avoid flaking with the regular application of moisturizer and sunscreen.
It is not recommended to have direct sun exposure for two weeks after your treatment. After these two weeks, we recommend good sun protection. Be aware that you should never be in the sun without protection.
Each technology has its risks. However, at Clinique Chloé, all necessary measures are taken to ensure that such a situation does not occur. Your treating professional is certified and highly qualified to carry out your treatment. Also, you will need to be very transparent about your sun exposure over the past few weeks so that your professional has all the elements necessary for your assessment.
