HOW DOES IT WORK ?

The V-Beam is a pulsed dye laser that is attracted specifically to oxyhemoglobin, the molecule that gives the color red to your acne lesions and blood vessels in general. This device can be used to treat active acne.

STEP BY STEP PROTOCOL

EVALUATION AND PREPARATION

After reviewing your medical questionnaire, your treating professional will conduct your complete assessment, starting with pictures from different angles and a visual analysis. The area to be treated should be thoroughly cleansed to facilitate the evaluation.

INSTALLATION

Protective goggles will be provided to you for your comfort and security. Your treating professional will disinfect the area to be treated using compresses and a disinfectant solution.

LASER TREATMENT

Your treating professional will choose the best laser parameters for the treatment of your acne. The wavelength of the V-Beam laser will specifically target the oxyhemoglobin contained in your acne lesions. You may feel a little pinch with each pulse, but the treatment will only last 5 to 20 minutes.

APPLICATION OF CREAM AND POST-TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS

Your treatment will end with the application of a moisturizer with sun protection, if necessary. You will have redness and mild inflammation when you walk out of your appointment. Finally, before leaving, your professional will explain to you the post-treatment instructions and give you a written copy.

The goal of the V-beam laser treatment is to reduce the number of active acne lesions and to reduce the redness and hyperpigmentation caused by acne.

The V-Beam is a laser with a wavelength capable of targeting the red color in blood cells, making it one of the best ways to treat inflammatory acne lesions.

Everything you need to know about this treatment

WILL MY SKIN BECOME THINNER AND MORE FRAGILE IN THE LONG TERM ?

Quite the contrary. The V-Beam laser will not only treat your acne lesions but will also stimulate the production of collagen in the treated areas, which can only make the skin in these areas firmer and prevent premature aging.
You may notice some marks such as bruises or redness on your skin right after the treatment, but those will disappear when your skin heals.
It is possible to perform V-Beam laser treatments on darker phototypes, up to a certain limit. This is why you should be evaluated by your treating professional and be very transparent about your degree of sun exposure in the last few weeks.
It is not recommended to have direct sun exposure on the treated area for 2 weeks after the treatment. After these two weeks, we recommend exposure with good sunscreen. Be aware that you should never be in the sun without protection.
