WHAT IS IT ?

Neuromodulators are an anti-wrinkle treatment that is widely used in aesthetic medicine. These molecules are injected into the muscles of the face, temporarily relaxing them. After the procedure, the skin becomes smooth and wrinkle-free in the chosen areas, and the untreated facial muscles remain intact, allowing natural facial expressions. Among the most famous neuromodulators are Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin. A session of neuromodulators takes about 10-20 minutes and is considered safe and relatively painless.

HOW DOES IT WORK ?

Expression wrinkles on the face arise as a result of muscle activity with which we express emotions. Some facial muscles contract up to 15,000 times a day. With age, the skin loses its elasticity and wrinkles appear in the areas where muscle contraction is the most important. Neuromodulators block the transmission of impulses from nerves to muscles, which relaxes them and reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.

WHAT IS
THE TECHNIQUE ?

First of all, the treating professional will evaluate the condition of your skin to detect the presence of wrinkles on the face and to determine the areas requiring intervention. Then, the skin will be disinfected. Afterwards, using a syringe and a very fine needle, the neuromodulators will be injected into the muscles to be treated. The entire procedure takes about 10 to 20 minutes.

DOES IT HURT ?

This treatment is relatively painless. You may feel a slight pinch for a few seconds during the injection. The application of an anesthetic cream is not necessary for this treatment.
The entire procedure takes about 10 to 20 minutes. The first results will begin to be visible within 3 to 7 days after treatment and the final results will appear after about 2 weeks.
In most cases, the effects of this treatment last 4 to 6 months. Gradually, with a decrease in the concentration of neuromodulators in the treated muscles, those muscles restore their function and begin to contract as they did before the treatment.
Immediately after the procedure, you will be able to resume your normal activities. However, for the first 24 hours following the procedure, it is recommended to avoid hot showers, strenuous exercise and sun exposure. It is also recommended to avoid lying down for at least 4 hours after the procedure.
Individual factors, such as muscle strength, metabolism, exercise and stress levels, have an impact on the duration of neuromodulating agents. The patient's age and skin type are also of great importance. The best way to maintain results is to perform a treatment every 4 to 6 months.
This procedure is considered very safe. However, there is a risk of temporary bruising, redness and headache.
Contraindications to neuromodulating agents are rare and include neuromuscular diseases, pregnancy and the presence of infection at the injection site.
