WHAT IS IT ?

Platelet-rich plasma, commonly known as PRP, is a preparation obtained from the patient's own blood. Once the blood is centrifuged, a platelet concentrate is obtained in a small volume of plasma. Platelet-rich plasma injections stimulate natural processes of tissue renewal, including collagen and elastin production. The preparation is used for facial rejuvenation, fine wrinkles reduction on the face, neck and décolleté, as well as treating fine lines under the eyes. It can also be used to treat hair loss.

HOW DOES IT WORK ?

Platelet-rich plasma contains a large amount of proteins and growth factors. It also contains all the valuable plasma components essential for tissue regeneration, including fibrin, fibronectin and vitronectin. By injecting platelet-rich plasma into the skin, the skin regeneration process is accelerated, creating better skin nutrition and hydration.

WHAT ARE THE RESULTS ?

The first results of platelet-rich plasma are visible after approximately 7 days, but the final result will be obtained after 4 to 6 weeks. The improvement in skin quality is spectacular. The skin regains its radiance, firmness and is visibly plumped. Skin texture and color are also improved with this treatment. This provides a significant overall visual rejuvenation of the skin.

WHAT IS
THE TECHNIQUE ?

Platelet-rich plasma injection is a minimally invasive procedure that involves taking blood from the patient's forearm vein. The blood is then centrifuged to separate the blood components. The centrifuged plasma is drawn into a syringe and injected into the skin with a very fine needle. The technique involves injecting the platelet-rich plasma into the dermis.

DOES IT HURT ?

You may feel a slight discomfort during the injections. The use of an anesthetic cream is not recommended.
The whole procedure takes about 30-40 minutes, depending on the treatment area. The initial effect is noticeable just a few days after the procedure, while the final result develops within a few weeks after the treatment, when new collagen and elastin are produced.
The effect of platelet-rich plasma injections is long-lasting but not permanent. The effect of one procedure lasts up to 12 months. To maintain the achieved result, it is recommended to perform 1-2 repeated procedures per year.
The majority of patients can resume their daily activities immediately after the procedure. However, some patients may experience swelling, bruising and redness at the injection sites. These minor side effects disappear spontaneously within 1 to 2 days and do not require any special care.
The use of sunscreen and medical-grade skincare is recommended as well as performing 1-2 maintenance treatments per year.
The preparation used comes directly from the patient, making it safe. There are no allergic reactions or intolerances.
There are certain contraindications to injections of platelet-rich plasma such as pregnancy, coagulopathies, cancer, and active herpes at the injection site.
